WHAT ARE SKIBOARDS?

Skiboards are pure fun.

Not skis, skiblades, or ski skates. In the 1990's, skiboarding became its own sport. Blending the quick maneuverability of short skis with the creative flow of skating. Shorter lengths and fast turning make for a more responsive and playful ride. Every run is more expressive, more maneuverable, and way more fun, especially from the start.

High-performance construction.

Premium construction delivers high performance, comparable to high-end skis and snowboards. Each model is built for strength is built for strength, durability, and a smooth ride feel. Many models feature full-length vertically laminated Northern birch or poplar wood cores. While triaxial fiberglass layers and carbon fiber reinforcement improve responsiveness and stability. Rubber dampening reduces vibration for a smoother ride. Rockwell shapes encourage playful riding and easier maneuverability. Parabolic sidecuts improve carving and turning across varied terrain. And lastly, rocker camber profiles increase float, edge hold, and responsiveness. These materials create a smooth, solid ride with strong edge control and consistent flex. The construction helps reduce chatter and holds up through years of riding.

What are skiboards good for?

Cruising groomers, lapping parks, slashing powder, weaving trees, or bombing the mountain. Traditional skis demand a precise stance to stay in control, but skiboards let you move naturally without fighting the equipment.

Enjoy the whole mountain.

Some riders love carving groomers and flowing fast turns all over the mountain. Others spend all day in the park hitting rails, jumps, and getting creative on features. Some riders head into powder, trees, and backcountry terrain on wider skiboards built for float and stability in deep snow. Also, skaters connect with skiboarding right away because the balance, movement, and smooth flow match the movements used in inline, hockey, and roller skating.

For riders who simply want to enjoy the mountain more, skiboards offer quicker turning, easier stopping, and more maneuverability than traditional skis. Because of their shorter length, you get better control in moguls, trees, tight terrain, and changing snow conditions. Instead of managing long skis through every turn, riders can explore more terrain, ride with more confidence, and spend more time simply enjoying the mountain.

Pure fun from day one!

Why ride Summit skiboards? A much easier time on the slopes! Skiboards are shorter which means less chance of crossing or catching tips like with skis, and allow for exceptional maneuverability.  Because of this, you have way easier control, stop & turn compared to skis and snowboards.

Advance quickly! Your skills will accelerate. Customers often go from beginner to more advanced runs on their first day! You are truly free to enjoy the mountains, feel confident, and know you can stop and turn wherever you choose. Most who have converted to skiboards skip the lessons necessary for learning to ride skis and snowboards. Fun is what it is all about. This is also the safest snow riding tool on the slopes when mounted with ski-type bindings. Way less chance of injuries like a torn ACL or knee injury, which is a very common risk on skis.

This is a sport that you can truly enjoy with friends and family. The great thing about skiboards is that everyone gets good quickly, so you can all cruise together, no matter the skill levels, as with skis or snowboards. Go anywhere on the mountain and have real fun. Express creativity without fighting equipment. This is also a great way to get in or stay in shape!
