WHAT ARE SKIBOARDS?
Skiboards are pure fun.
Not skis, skiblades, or ski skates. In the 1990's, skiboarding became its own sport. Blending the quick maneuverability of short skis with the creative flow of skating. Shorter lengths and fast turning make for a more responsive and playful ride. Every run is more expressive, more maneuverable, and way more fun, especially from the start.
Cruising groomers, lapping parks, slashing powder, weaving trees, or bombing the mountain. Traditional skis demand a precise stance to stay in control, but skiboards let you move naturally without fighting the equipment.
Beginner and Progression:
Skiboards make learning snow sports way less intimidating. Shorter lengths create easier turns and quicker stops, giving you more control from day one. Models like the Summit EZ 95 cm and Sk8 96 cm help beginners start riding in a single day, even with little skiing experience. Skaters from inline, hockey, or roller skating transition naturally onto skiboards. Quick stops, smooth parallel turns, and easy control through varied terrain keep riding simple and stress-free. No worries, no hassle, just pure fun. The Summit 99 cm and GroovN 106 give progressing riders more speed and stability while keeping maneuverability easy. Balanced handling and responsive turns keep these skiboards fun for all ages. Rockered skiboards like the Sk8 96, GroovN 106, and Invertigo 118 really hold their power through changing show conditions with ease.
All Mountain Riding
Cruise groomers, slash side hits, lap the park, weave through trees, hunt powder, hit moguls, or just flow down the mountain. Because skis require locking into a stance and technique, the wrong stance will ruin your control of the skis. No matter where and what you ride on the mountain, ride more naturally and freely on skiboards.
Powder & Backcountry
Deep snow days hit different on skiboards. Wider models with rocker camber float better and stay stable through rough terrain. Moving through tight trees and rough terrain is way easier than traditional long skis. Our Sk8 96 cm are wider, which are awesome through deep or changing snow conditions. Invertigo 118 cm and Marauder 125 cm bring float, control, and still playful off-trail.
Terrain Park & Freestyle
Get significantly more creative with skiboards here. Rails, jumps, riding switch, spins, and playful lines all over the mountain. Shorter twin tip skiboards like the Summit 88 cm feel quick in the air, easy to throw around, and super responsive on features. Longer skiboards, such as the Carbon 106 cm give you the speed for big jumps and big air.
Why ride Summit Skiboards?
Pure FUN from day one!
Why ride Summit skiboards? A much easier time on the slopes! Skiboards are shorter which means less chance of crossing or catching tips like with skis, and allow for exceptional maneuverability. Because of this, you have way easier control, stop & turn compared to skis and snowboards.
Advance quickly! Your skills will accelerate. Customers often go from beginner to more advanced runs on their first day! You are truly free to enjoy the mountains, feel confident, and know you can stop and turn wherever you choose. Most who have converted to skiboards skip the lessons necessary for learning to ride skis and snowboards. Fun is what it is all about. This is also the safest snow riding tool on the slopes when mounted with ski-type bindings. Way less chance of injuries like a torn ACL or knee injury, which is a very common risk on skis.
This is a sport that you can truly enjoy with friends and family. The great thing about skiboards is that everyone gets good quickly, so you can all cruise together, no matter the skill levels, as with skis or snowboards. Go anywhere on the mountain and have real fun. Express creativity without fighting equipment. This is also a great way to get in or stay in shape!
